Glenview had its name selected in 1895 after there were too many different names for various areas within the community "The Park" is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the village. Wagner Farm is the last remnant of a much larger farm which was owned and farmed by members of the Wagner family since their arrival in this area from Germany in the 1850s. Glenview is home to a rich variety of animals. These animals coexist with the human residents of Glenview and thrive in the many forest preserves that call Glenview home. The picture on the top of this page features a home where we removed a tired, weathered cedar shake roof and replaced it with an attractive high-quality CertainTeed shingle. We further improved the style and design by installing copper in all of the valleys on the roof. The end result was an attractive, functional roof that will look great for decades to come and will provide the necessary protection for the inside of the home.
On the other hand, traditional homes may have a portion of the roof that is a flat roof. That flat roof area may be a second-floor balcony or second or third floor deck space.
